Laundry PDX, a popular Portland, OR-based vintage sportswear shop known for its curated collection of teamwear, jerseys and ’80s/’90s streetwear, plans to close in February. The online store will continue.

The store’s closure was announced on Instagram by Owner and Founder Chris Yen.

Laundry, specializing in jerseys, caps, jackets, and accessories, first opened in 2017 in Portland’s Eastside Industrial District. In 2019, it relocated to Portland’s Old Town Chinatown, quadrupling its footprint and becoming a community hub for artists, designers, athletes, and streetwear fans. In 2023, Laundry PDX moved to the Alberta Arts District, teaming up with golf streetwear brand Muni Kids at its current location at 1723 NE Alberta Street.

The social media post reads as follows:

Dear friends,

Laundry has been the greatest adventure of my life, and I am so proud of everything this little store achieved with your support. From styling athletes and celebrities to designing for major sports teams and brands, to raising millions for charity, it all seems like a fever dream now, looking back from what feels like a distant shore.

I am sorry to announce that Laundry will close when our lease ends in February. Online business will continue, but the storefront will close on February 15th. Everything will be 30% off until then.

I can’t thank you enough for all the good times we shared. This place was truly special once, and perhaps, someday, will be again. I hope you’ll pop in for a final souvenir before we go. Goodbye for now. Hire me if you can.

Your friend,
Chris
