Polar, a wearable sports pioneer and fitness technology company, welcomed two world-renowned runners, Molly Huddle and Kate Grace, to their team.

Both U.S. Olympic Trials Champions, Huddle holds the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter American records on the track while Grace won the 800-meter final.

A nine-time All-American at the University of Notre Dame, Huddle has won 21 U.S. titles, and most recently she broke the American record in the 10,000-meter race at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 30:13, finishing sixth.

“Having seen it first-hand many times, I know that only a few seconds set top runners apart from each other, which is why I place a lot of value in reliable metrics. Polar gives me those metrics, guides me during trainings and helps me determine if I’m over-exerting myself or if I need time to recover. I’m excited to be training with Polar, and think it will be a key tool in bringing home a medal in Tokyo,” said Huddle.

Grace was the lone American to advance to the women’s 800-meter final in Rio. A few weeks later she posted a season best 1:58.28 at the highly competitive Weltklasse Zürich Diamond League 800. She is only the second female Yale graduate in history to represent the school in Track and Field at the Olympic Games.

“As I look to improve on this year, and continue making my mark on the world scene, having accurate insight on performance and recovery is key. It can help turn a good performance into a great one,” she said of the collaboration with Polar.
