Pacific Market International (PMI) of Seattle has acquired Aladdin South America, including two ISO-9001 certified manufacturing plants in Brazil, where it intends to manufacture Stanley-, Aladdin- and Migo-branded thermoses and other food and beverage containers.

Effective immediately, Aladdin South America will operate under the corporate entity of PMI South America as a brand-marketing, product innovation company that manufactures in Brazil.

Aladdin South America, with headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, was established in 1938 and is the number one brand of insulated vacuum bottles in Brazil. With two ISO 9001 manufacturing facilities in Brazil, Aladdin South America will expand its operations to accommodate new products and brands from PMI – specifically Stanley and Migo. The Stanley brand is the leading outdoor/sporting goods brand in food and beverage containers, while Migo is the fastest growing brand in this space in the China/Asia Pacific market.

In addition, the Aladdin product lines developed for EMEA, North America and China/Asia Pacific will be available to customers and consumers in the critically important Latin American market. The acquisition gives PMI global rights to the Aladdin brand.

“The combination of the highly dedicated team of professionals at PMI South America and PMI’s Aladdin, Stanley and Migo brands will provide powerful merchandising solutions for retailers and offer exciting new innovative products to consumers never before seen in the South American market” says Rob Harris, President and CEO of PMI. “This acquisition opens the South American market for PMI and allows us to partner with a strong team with significant distribution and manufacturing capabilities in market.”

“Throughout our 76 years of ownership of the Aladdin brand we have seen many achievements and overcome many obstacles.  We want to thank the former shareholders, especially the members of the Agostini family, for their legacy that was passed on and that will live on in our future.  We look forward to this new journey,” said Alberto Jasmim, President of PMI South America.
