Pearl Izumi announced that elite triathlete Drew Scott has signed a one year contract as a sponsored athlete. This will be Scotts debut season as a professional triathlete.

As the son of six-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott, 22-year old Drew placed 1st overall in 2012 at Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs and captured amateur wins at Ironman 70.3 Boulder, Boulder Peak and Rev3 Anderson.  He placed 2nd overall at the USA Triathlon Olympic Distance Nationals and was named Top Male Amateur of the Year by USA Triathlon.

We are thrilled to welcome Drew to our team for his first professional triathlon season, said Geoff Shaffer, Global Marketing Director for Pearl Izumi.  A born and bred Boulder athlete and son of one of triathlons most impressive competitors, Drew is incredibly talented and promises to explode on the professional triathlon scene.

A full-time student studying political science at Colorado University, Boulder, Drew spent his first two collegiate years skiing for Montana State University before deciding to move back to Boulder, attend CU and race triathlons full time.  CUs triathlon team welcomed him with open arms and has since enjoyed the talent, success and spirit he has brought to an already stellar program.  CU Triathlon Team has won 3 consecutive national titles since 2010 and stands to snag one more this coming season.
