Pearl Izumi, maker of performance cycling apparel and footwear, will be the exclusive clothing partner of the Old Man Winter Rally held Feb. 11, 2018 in Lyons, CO.
They will attend with their ambassador team in tow and more than 40 Pearl Izumi riders will take part in the event. Old Man Winter is an epic winter celebration of dirt, snow, sweat, and beer that could see a wide range of weather conditions in early February. This fourth annual Old Man Winter Rally will collect funds for CAN’d Aid Foundation, a nonprofit aimed to rebuild Colorado’s favorite flood-damaged hiking and biking trails.
With variable weather conditions this time of year, Old Man Winter is not just about the ride, but the other components that go into staying dry and warm on race day. As part of their sponsorship, Pearl Izumi worked with the Old Man Winter Rally to develop the definitive Winter Clothing Guide that suggests layering systems for a full range of weather conditions. Events like this are a natural fit with Pearl Izumi’s #EndureandEnjoy365 initiative, which empowers riders with gear to comfortably get out 365 days of the year, no matter the conditions.
Pearl Izumi is also using this event as the debut for its 2018 Ambador team. Thirty five Ambador members will race on Feb. 11 to show support for the Old Man Winter Rally cause. This crew is sure to bring a whole new element of fun and competition to the event.
Pearl Izumi’s Ambadors were hand-selected this year to represent the brand based on their involvement in the road, mountain bike and triathlon communities and their passion for the sport. The ‘Ambador’ name is derived from an excerpt of the Pearl Izumi Pact, where athletes pledge to “take the ass out of ambassador.
