Paris Glove Inc., which makes the Auclair gloves used by many of Canada's Winter Olympic athletes, confirmed that Daniel Gervais joined the company as president on May 4 and has been working with CEO and Chairman Robert Laglois, who will retire at the end of the year.

Gervais brings over 20 years of experience in the sporting goods industry, working with companies such as Reebook Canada (Vice President & General Manager), New Balance (National Accounts Manager), RMP (Vice President Sales & Marketing) and most recently, Lanctôt Distribution (Vice President Sales). Gervais will work with Langlois until his retirement at the end of this year.

Langlois, who is a member of the Paris Glove Inc. board of directors, plans to retire on December 31, 2015 after a career that has spanned more than 30 years and included stints as CEO of Salomon Canada, VP of Winter Sports at Head USA and VP of the Sports Division at Lanctôt Distribution.

Founded in 1945, Paris Glove of Canada continues to focus on developing gloves of the highest standard that will be the preferred choice by amateur and pro-athletes in achieving their goals. In addition to Auclair sports gloves, Paris Glove Inc. carries a collection of casual and casual-dress gloves, Seger hats and socks, Laurentide work gloves, ProJob workwear and is the licensee for Kodiak casual and work gloves.

Paris Glove is owned by New Wave Group (NWG), a Swedish brand management company that specializes in acquiring, launching and developing brands in the
corporate promo, sports, gifts and home furnishings sectors. NWG reported Sports & Leisure sales reached $68 million in the first quarter ended March 31, up 19 percent from the first quarter of 2014. The company, which operates in the Corporate Promo and Gift and Home Furnishings markets, derived 26 percent of its sales, or about $42 million, from the U.S. during the period.
