Panoptx Eyewear appointed Panoptx founder Dr. Rudy Kopfer to its board of directors. This appointment is effective immediately.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have Rudy back on our board,” said Bob Hall, president and CEO of Panoptx Eyewear. “Prior to launching Panoptx in 1997, Rudy spent eight years developing prototypes and perfecting his vision of windless eyewear. His passion and devotion to the brand are unparalleled. Rudy believes in Panoptx’ future and his expertise and vision will help elevate the brand.”

A maxillofacial surgeon with 32 years of experience, Dr. Kopfer utilized his expertise to design eyewear that has the performance features of goggles and the stylish look of sunglasses. His cornerstone patent for Panoptx is one of 13 patents he holds in various fields. A graduate of the University of California, he served as the president of the Institute for Correction of Dentofacial Deformities and provided consulting services to Kaiser Permanente. Additionally, Dr. Kopfer served on the medical staff of four other well known California hospitals and taught as a clinical professor at the University of the Pacific. He retired from practicing medicine in 1998 to pursue his passion for inventing, which included the development of the first pair of Panoptx.

“Panoptx is poised for solid growth,” said Kopfer. “Over the past nine years, we have proved there is a market for style-driven, wind-resistant eyewear. Building on the success to date in creating markets for our products, we’re ready to expand the brand, bringing more consumers into the Panoptx family. I am honored to be invited to join the Panoptx board and I’m eager to contribute to the future growth of the brand and the company.”
