Paddletek Group, the Chicago-based maker of pickleball paddles, acquired paddle competitor Pikkl. Terms were not disclosed.
Pikkl Co-founders Mike Strommen and Dan Martinson will continue to work with Paddletek.
“What Dan and I started years ago has grown into something far bigger than we imagined,” said Strommen. “Joining Paddletek gives us the opportunity to bring our expertise and passion to a group that shares our commitment to growing the sport, pushing performance forward and supporting our athletes.”
Paddletek Group also announced the signing of professional pickleball players JW Johnson, Jorja Johnson, Julie Johnson, and Hurricane Tyra Black as ambassadors.
Paddletek Group, a portfolio company of private-equity firm Thirty-5 Capital, is the Official Paddle Sponsor of Major League Pickleball, Professional Pickleball Association, US Open Pickleball Championships, and the USAP Nationals. Its pickleball brands include Paddletek, ProXR, Padeltek, and Yobow.
