The Jersey Paddler, host of Paddlesport 2006, the East Coast’s largest kayak, canoe and outdoor consumer expo held March 24-26, 2006, is proud to announce that this year’s show posted record attendance and sales.

“Paddlesport 2006 was the best show ever!” said John Durrua, President of The Jersey Paddler.

Attendance increased by over 9% in comparison to last year and sales climbed by almost 8%. “Not only are we happy with this year’s results, but we are even more impressed by the great interest our community has shown for paddlesports.”

The Jersey Paddler has been hosting Paddlesport for 25 years and at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ since 1998. The show is a great opportunity for everyone to come together to kick off the new paddling season.

Leading paddlesports manufacturers were on hand to guide consumers with their paddling needs and offer them discounted show prices. Attendees also took advantage of informative seminars and opportunities to connect with local paddling clubs as well as discovering new paddling destinations.

On the first night of the show, Paddlesport 2006 presented the first ever film festival showing the winners’ films of the National Paddling Film Festival. The event raised $630 with all proceeds benefiting Clean Ocean Action of Sandy Hook, NJ.

“We always look forward to working with The Jersey Paddler. We are excited by the impact Paddlesport has on our community, bringing thousands of consumers from across the Northeast and vendors from as far away as Alaska,” said Kenneth Daly, Township Manager, Franklin Township.

“We look forward to next year’s Paddlesport event and throughout the year we will look into ways of making it an even better experience for all,” added John Durrua.
