The Paddle Council, a coalition of top paddlesports manufacturers, retailers and stakeholders, dedicated to the advancement and sustainability of the industry, today issued a call for nominations to its advisory panel.

The Paddle Council serves as an ad hoc steering committee on industry issues including youth outreach, tradeshows and consumer engagement.  Serving as a unified voice for the industry, the Paddle Council works side by side with paddlesports and outdoor trade associations, non-profit groups, suppliers and dealers to address the challenges present in today’s marketplace.

Paddle Council members are responsible for bringing their organizational expertise and constructive feedback to the myriad of topics facing the paddlesports industry.  Applicants must be active members of the paddlesports community and share a willingness to represent the greater constituency of the industry rather than any one entity.

Paddle Council members meet monthly via teleconference and in person around the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow. Council members serve three-year terms and are expected to participate on one or more standing committees or task forces.

There are currently three open Council seats and the Paddle Council executive committee is seeking a build list of initial candidates by May 21, 2010.  Top candidates will be interviewed by the committee with the goal of welcoming new members by the Outdoor Retailer show in August.
