In order to increase overnight accommodations, a caravan city will be set up this summer on the OutDoor exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This “hotel on wheels” is called Hymer-City. During the two international trade fairs, OutDoor and EUROBIKE, One of Europe's manufacturers of caravans will be providing fifty 4-person caravans near the exhibition site. This will give visitors, exhibitors and media representatives a direct route from the trade fair to their overnight accommodations.

According to Ralf Torresin, PR and Advertising Manager at Hymer AG, “After the trade fairs are over, the caravans will be sold on the European market”.

The trade fair organisers and Hymer have worked together on projects in the past. During the Sailing Camps 2006 held in conjunction with the INTERBOOT International Watersports Exhibition, the participating elite sailors spent the night in Hymer caravans located directly in the harbour area. This is a valuable service that trade fair organisers are now incorporating into other trade events.

Signs already point to new records: In the run-up to OutDoor 2007, the number of registrations have surpassed all expectations. A total of 688 exhibitors have already signed up for the event – 78 per cent will be coming from outside of Germany. The European OutDoor trade fair has thus achieved substantial gains on an international level.
