Emerald, the operator of Outdoor Retailer, Surf Expo, Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show, and other venues, has appointed Danielle Puceta as chief digital officer (CDO), effective immediately. In addition to her new responsibilities, Puceta will continue as general manager of Elastic Suite, Emerald’s B2B e-commerce and digital merchandising platform.

“Danielle’s deep expertise in digital strategy, business transformation and product innovation makes her the perfect leader to guide Emerald into its next phase of growth,” said Hervé Sedky, president and CEO of Emerald. “Her proven ability to scale platforms, accelerate transformation and deliver exceptional customer value will be pivotal as we continue to invest in the capabilities that drive our business and deliver measurable results for our customers.”

Puceta commented, “I’m honored to step into the role of chief digital officer at such a transformative time for Emerald and our industry. We are building on our leadership — from the events themselves to how they connect with media, content and digital commerce.

“Our vision is to create a cohesive, year-round journey that delivers continuous value to our communities while keeping our in-person experiences dynamic and relevant. By integrating AI across our products and operations, we will enhance experiences, empower our teams to work smarter and redefine how growth, connection and innovation take shape as we serve and garner new and existing customers in the next era of B2B engagement,” Puceta added.

Puceta joined Emerald in 2021 as senior vice president of Corporate Strategy & Xcelerator, where she led new brand launches and corporate strategy initiatives. She was later promoted to executive vice president, Content & Commerce, overseeing Emerald’s Content division, which spans strategy, development, optimization, and its Commerce division, including Elastic Suite.

With over 15 years of experience, Emerald noted in a media release that “Puceta has held senior leadership roles at Freeman, where she developed digital product diversification and transformation strategies, and at American Express Meetings & Events for the Asia Pacific, where she managed teams across 15 countries and built strategic partnerships in China, Japan and Korea.”
