Outdoor Research appointed Scott Kerslake, formerly at Prana and Athleta, as acting president, effective May 11 while the company’s Board of Directors searches for a permanent president. The Seattle-based brand announced in mid-April that Roger Barton, president since 2018, had stepped down.

Outdoor Research said Kerslake is best known as the founder of Athleta. He later served as CEO of Prana, where he “led the brand through a period of significant growth and established its category leadership in sustainability,” according to Outdoor Research. He has also held leadership roles at Nixon and Mountain Hardwear.

During his tenure as acting president, Kerslake will work alongside the leadership team and Board to advance Outdoor Research’s brand and product strategies, strengthen collaboration across the organization, and support execution of the brand’s long-term strategy.
