The first design competition at the OutDoor Show has motivated many companies in the outdoor industry. 142 products from 21 countries have been entered for the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD. The objective of this industrial contest is to distinguish products combining innovative technology with design and functional competence. The prize-winners will be chosen by an expert jury in a closed selection procedure.

Outdoor is no longer just for the professionals, it can also give the amateurs so much: a health drive, fun and leisure. Sports equipment and functional gear are what’s needed-and they have to be well designed to provide the outdoor people with what they need. This is where the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD comes in and gives the consumer a sense of orientation and offers the industry an incentive to present what it can do on the market.

The winners will receive their rewards during the OutDoor on Sunday, July 23, 2006 and the award-winners will be presented in an exhibition in the entrance area. Another new feature is the selection of an outstanding celebrity from the outdoor sector. This special prize “OutDoor Celebrity of the Year 2006” will be awarded at the exhibition. The jury members are media representatives who will select the award-winner on a majority basis.
