Osprey Packs, Inc. announced six new organizations benefiting from the proceeds from its 2006 Proform Program. Osprey Packs presented over $3500 to The Alaska Conservation Foundation, Appalachian Trail Conference, the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, Colorado Wild, Save Our Wild Salmon and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance in 2006.

Each year, Osprey chooses six organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship, preservation and protection as its recipients in the Proform Program. Funds for the program are received from the company’s pro-purchase, employee purchase and demo programs. The Osprey Proform Program was launched in 2004.

The 2007 donation recipients will be The Alaska Wilderness League, American Whitewater, Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, Grand Canyon Trust, Izaak Walton League and Save our Wild Salmon.

“We request that the folks given the privilege of these Osprey discount purchases give a little back by checking a $2 donation box next to the organization of their choice,” explains Martins. “It’s a great feeling to add up the totals at the end of the year and present these organizations with their donated funds.”

Proform Program recipients are selected each year by the Osprey “Green Team”, a group of six Osprey team member that focus on the company’s sustainable business practice and environmental integrity. Criteria for selection include the overall mission of the organizations, ongoing partnerships with Osprey, and relevance and urgency of current efforts of each organization.
