Outdoor Retailer announced the 25th Anniversary of Summer Market, which will feature more exhibitors, events and innovations than ever before. Outdoor Retailer Summer Market will also feature the first ever two-day Open Air Demo, where attendees will experience hands-on the hottest outdoor products in the environments for which they are designed.

“We would like to thank all of the people and companies that have supported Outdoor Retailer so strongly over the past years,” said Peter Devin, Group Show Director for Outdoor Retailer. “This summer's show will be our largest ever staged in the history of the show, with increased numbers of exhibitors, brands, business opportunities, events and activities. We are looking forward to kicking off the next 25 years of passion, commitment and business opportunities for the worldwide community of outdoor buyers and sellers.”

The two-day Open Air Demo will be held at Willard Bay State Park, on August 8-9. The event will preview hundreds of new products from the outdoor industry’s leading manufacturers in paddlesports, camping, trail running and optics among many other categories. Open Air Demo exhibitors will provide international and national buyers, retailers and media attendees the unique opportunity to test the most up-to-the-minute gear, from canoes, kayaks and tents to sunglasses, GPS technology and footwear.

Following Open Air Demo, attendees will trek to the 2006 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (August 10-13, in Salt Lake City, Utah), host to over 920 exhibitors representing more than 1,000 brands, some of which have been exhibiting at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market for 25 consecutive years, including Kelty, Outdoor Research, Buck Knives and Jansport.

“Kelty has attended Outdoor Retailer for 25 consecutive years because it provides our company with a direct link to new international and domestic customers,” remarked Kenny Ballard, president of Kelty. “This show is a great place to forge important relationships with other leading brands and check out the latest trends and product innovations in the outdoor industry. We wouldn’t miss it.”

The First Annual Outdoor Retailer Summer Market was held in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1982. Since then, the tradeshow has traveled from California to Nevada, and reached its current home in Salt Lake City, UT in 1996. This year, the Salt Palace Convention Center has expanded by 217,000 square feet, allowing Outdoor Retailer to make room for new exhibitors and expansion opportunities this summer.
