Optic Nerve will celebrate its recently signed sponsorship agreement with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) at Interbike at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas next week.

Currently, the Colorado-based Company sponsors one of the nine individual leagues under NICA’s umbrella, the Colorado Mountain Biking League. Optic Nerve was so pleased with the reciprocal fit of core values between themselves and the league that they decided to step up their sponsorship commitment to the national level effective Jan. 1, 2014.

“As a company, we aim to provide people with the resources to get outside and get active, especially at a young age,” said Optic Nerve cofounder and President Bill Cotton. “We saw that NICA has the same goal. They provide high school aged individuals with the means to form a passion for an outdoor activity that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.”

In addition to financial support, Optic Nerve will be offering NICA proprietary tools about eye safety, discounts on all sunglass orders, and their own limited-edition sunglass. The debut of the limited-edition NICA sunglass is set tentatively for early 2014. All coaches will get a complimentary pair and the piece will be available to the public on the Optic Nerve website with 10 percent of all profits going back to the league.
