Skechers Inc. filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Los Angeles against singer Britney Spears and her companies, alleging fraud and breach of contract.

In a press release, the footwear maker claimed Spears reneged on a roller-skate licensing agreement by unreasonably delaying and failing to approve manufacturers, product designs and advertising for Britney 4 Wheelers roller skates and apparel.

The complaint also alleges Spears and her company, which consists of Britney Brands Inc. and Britney Touring Inc., “fraudulently induced SKECHERS into entering into a tour sponsorship agreement as a condition to obtaining the merchandise license.”

SKX is seeking reimbursement of millions of dollars in costs and compensatory and punitive damages of more than $10 million.

Spears sued the company back in January over the same issues, seeking more than $1.5 million and citing breach of agreement, claiming Skechers USA, Inc. used her to plug its own roller skates instead of a skating line she designed.

The January action also claims that ads featuring Spears ran before skates from her own collection were available, causing customers to buy Skechers skates instead.
SKX shares jumped 12.4% for the week to close at $6.35 on Friday.
