On Holding reported that its chief operating officer, Sam Wenger, is stepping down at the end of the year. Scott Maguire, the company’s chief innovation officer, will assume the expanded role of chief innovation and operations officer starting in January.

Maguire, who joined On in April 2025, had previously served as CEO of Specialized Bicycle Components for three years. Previously, he worked for Dyson for nearly 19 years, most recently serving as COO.

On said in a statement to Bloomberg that “Maguire will now have a dual role to oversee the integration of innovation and operations.”

Maguire is expected to accelerate the scaling of On’s Lightspray technology, which manufactures shoe uppers robotically in a single, automated step. The project is currently overseen by Maguire.

Wenger, who has been COO since October 2024, is leaving to pursue other opportunities in the startup world, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg.

Formerly at McKinsey, Wenger joined On in 2017 as head of corporate finance and business development. He will remain with On until the end of the first quarter of 2026.
