On Holdings announced plans to open four stores in California this year in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles, while also opening its first stores Brazil.

In California, the new locations include:

  • Chestnut Street – San Francisco, CA
  • The Village at Corte Madera – Corte Madera, CA
  • Westfield University Towne Centre (UTC) – San Diego, CA
  • Westfield Century City – Los Angeles, CA

“California’s movement culture is unmatched, driven by passionate communities that live and breathe active lifestyles,” says Dan Schade, vice president and general manager of the Americas at On. “Expanding our retail presence in California allows us to deliver premium, personalized experiences and equip athletes and movers for the road, trail, studio and court. From San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego, our stores are designed to serve as active hubs for anyone pushing their limits.”

Located next to San Francisco’s Marina District, the Chestnut Street store (shown above) measures 2,800 square feet of retail space. The store opened on July 30. On said the location “combines clean industrial elements with warm materials and lighting to create a rich visual contrast. Inspired by the iconic red-orange tones of the Golden Gate Bridge and the energetic vibe of the surrounding Marina neighborhood, the space brings On’s Swiss engineering into a welcoming retail environment.”

The Corte Madera store, on Redwood Highway, offers 4,000 square feet of retail space and is scheduled to open in September. On said, “Designed for Marin County’s outdoor community, The Village at Corte Madera store seamlessly blends natural wood materials and open layouts with On’s minimalist Swiss aesthetic. The design draws inspiration from Northern California’s coastal redwoods and rugged trails, creating an inviting space for local runners and hikers. Warm timber accents and dedicated seating areas offer a comfortable community hub to prepare for the trails.”

The San Diego store, on La Jolla Village Drive, measures 3,300 square feet of retail space and is also set to open in September. On said, “Reflecting Southern California’s coastal aesthetic, the Westfield UTC location pairs light stone and floor-to-ceiling glass with On’s modular display systems. Inspired by the sun-drenched beaches and ocean cliffs of San Diego, sand-toned finishes and generous aisle space maximize natural light throughout the store. The open, airy layout creates a relaxed atmosphere that serves as a welcoming hub for group runs and product discovery.”

The Los Angeles store on Santa Monica Blvd occupies 3,500 square feet of retail space and is scheduled to open in October. On said, “Inspired by the energy and waterways of Los Angeles, the Westfield Century City store brings a sense of continuous movement to life. The design balances sleek industrial materials, inspired by brutalist architecture, with warm organic touches, featuring sweeping curved walls, polished concrete, and linear lighting. Soft leather seating and clean, minimalist displays create an inviting space for athletes to explore On’s latest product technology.”

The On brand currently operates three retail stores in California, including Palo Alto, Los Angeles (Abbot Kinney) and Newport Beach (Fashion Island).

In Brazil, the brand is opening its first two locations in São Paulo at JK Iguatemi (shown right) on July 30 and at MorumbiShopping on August 6. The JK Iguatemi spans 250 square meters while the MorumbiShopping locations occupies 305 square meters.

“Brazil is one of our key markets in Latin America and a country that is increasingly connected to the latest trends in sports and movement,” said Fiorella Palacios, Senior Director of Latin America at On. “Bringing On stores to Brazil is a fundamental step in our global retail expansion, allowing these local communities of athletes and movers to experience and test our technology firsthand through the premium brand experience that only On can offer. We want these stores to be more than just retail locations; our ambition is for them to become gathering places for people who love movement, where they can not only find the right product, but also connect with our brand authentically and with one another. We are incredibly excited about this new milestone for the brand in Brazil.”

The new store openings will bring its total global footprint to more than 70 stores worldwide.
