Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) Executive Director Deanne Buck will be speaking at the European Outdoor Summit on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.

The conference is being held in Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK and is the flagship initiative of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), an association representing the common interests of the European outdoor industry.

Buck will be keynoting the introduction of a panel focused around the role of women in the outdoors’ market. Her presentation will address the opportunities afforded to companies that holistically adopt workplace inclusion and women’s leadership as a strategic priority.

In January, OIWC introduced a new initiative, the CEO Pledge, to provide a platform for and build a community of companies committed to an inclusive active outdoor industry. Since then, more than 35 CEOs have taken a visible stand to foster work environments where individual differences are respected, celebrated, and leveraged for greater innovation and growth of the participation base.

“Together we are creating an industry that is setting the standard for attracting and welcoming diverse talent,” said Buck. “We would not be where we are without the courage of so many leaders to publicly support this opportunity. I am honored to bring this vision to the European Outdoor Summit.”

Based in Boulder, CO, the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition is the only national organization dedicated to workplace diversity and inclusion by expanding opportunities for women and companies in the outdoor, snow, run, and bike industries.
