Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) announced today that Outdoor's Burning Platform: Global Trends Changing Retail will take place on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm during the Outdoor Retailers Winter Market 2014 in Salt Lake City. The featured speaker will be Christie Hickman, Vice President of Consumer and Market Insights for OIA.
The outdoor industry faces disruption of unprecedented magnitude induced by the perfect storm of shifting demographics, urban migration, emerging technologies and changing business models. Its impact is revealed in consumer trends manifested on a global level. OIA, as part of its Outdoor Retail of the Future initiative, presents collective insights from IDEO's work as well as findings from a global study conducted by the Scandinavian Outdoor Group in conjunction with Kairos Future, one of Europe's leading international research companies.
