Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) has announced a diverse Outdoor University lineup for June, with live sessions that explore global anti-bribery compliance, sustainability initiatives and social responsibility audits, as well as three newly released recordings from sessions at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, on topics that include business strategy, future outdoor trends and blogging.
The following live sessions are being presented in June:
- June 5-10 am (MDT): Greasy Palms and Orange Jumpsuits: The Importance of Global Anti-Bribery Compliance, Jason E. Prince, Stoel Rives, LLP. Co-presented by OIA and Stoel Rives, this presentation will explore the steps outdoor industry companies should take to create a culture of global anti-bribery compliance through written policies, training, due diligence, contract terms and monitoring.
- June 6-10 am (MDT): New Equipment Higg Index: Benchmark the Sustainability of Your Gear Product: Part 2 – OIA and members of the Equipment Working Group. This webinar will serve as a follow-up to the May 16, 2013 Equipment Index launch webinar. It will include a demonstration on how to use the product module. We will also be using this webinar to respond to any questions or feedback of the tool and the pilot program.
- June 13-10 am (MDT): How to Choose an Audit Firm to Conduct Baseline Social Responsibility Audits. OIA and members of the Social Responsibility Working Group. Designed for brands and suppliers interested in starting their own social responsibility program, this webinar will provide information on how to begin conducting baseline audits of suppliers using third party monitoring firms.
- June 27-10 am (MDT): Social/Fair Labor Service Providers: Moving Beyond Audits. OIA and Social Responsibility Working Group. Building on the June 13th webinar, which provided guidance on choosing firms to conduct social responsibility audits, the panelists on this webinar will discuss the ways in which organizations can move beyond audits and increase their capacity to establish and implement robust social responsibility policies.
