John C. Clark Jr. (Jack) passed away Sept. 3 in Fayetteville, NC, after a 25-year battle with kidney cancer. Clark was 69. Associated with Clark Sporting Goods Company, which was founded by
his father in 1938, he was an owner of the business until recent
years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in Highland Presbyterian Church with Dr. J. Ernest Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Clark has been involved with numerous business and civic
organizations. A devout Christian, he was an elder at Highland
Presbyterian Church.

Clark graduated from Darlington School in Rome, GA. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University and performed graduate studies in business at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Mildred Clark Erami; and by his parents, John C. Clark (Cap) and Mildred Pipkin Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Moore Clark; their son, John C. Clark III and wife Shannon Williams Clark; grandsons, John Gavin Clark and Samuel Ethan Clark; sister, Gayle Clark Reaves; nephews, John Clark Reaves and L. Holden Reaves and wife Maryt and sons, Holden and Jack; cousins, Alfred E. Cleveland and wife Janie, Louis Cleveland and John Dixon, and their families.
