Aspen-based Sport Obermeyer appointed Ryan Meyer as the brands newest merchandiser. In his new role, Meyer will serve as overall product category expert, helping to improve brand collections from starting concept through design, line development, sales and the production process. He will report to Robert Yturri, SVP product and brand management, out of the companys Aspen, CO headquarters.


Obermeyer is thrilled to welcome Ryan to the family. His primary goal will be to build upon and deepen our innovative product mix, said Yturri. Were confident that his experience and fluency with both consumer and retail principals will help the Obermeyer brand continue to evolve and lead the industry.


A seasoned industry professional, Meyer comes to Obermeyer from a post as VP of merchandising at leading ski industry retailer St. Bernard Sports where he worked for the last 12 years. During his tenure, he oversaw buying and worked closely with top brands including Moncler, Kjus, Canada Goose, Holden, Burton, Arcteryx, Spyder, Volcom, Descente, Helly Hansen, The North Face, Patagonia, Salomon and more.  Meyer maintained successful marketing partnerships while increasing the business and overall sales and profit margins.

Founded by industry pioneer Klaus Obermeyer, the company has called Aspen, Colorado its home and mountain laboratory for over 64 years. 


Meyer is an action sports enthusiast and has been an active skier and snowboarder for 20 years. His love of outdoor adventure includes mountain biking, rafting, backpacking and BMX racing. Meyer attended Southwest Texas University and he will be living in Aspen with his family.
