Aspen-based Sport Obermeyer (Obermeyer) appointed Michelle Hollingsworth as the brand’s new design lead. In her new role, Hollingsworth will manage the company’s overall design process and will work with the product team to fill and expand upon the ideas required to complete the company’s seasonal line plan. Hollingsworth will report to Robert Yturri, SVP product and brand management, out of the company’s Aspen, CO headquarters.

“Michelle is a welcome addition to the ‘dream team were forming at Obermeyer,” said SVP Robert Yturri. “Were confident that her expertise and eye will ensure ongoing inspirational design, consistency and relevance for our brand.”

Hollingsworth started designing for Obermeyer in 1990 and has worked on numerous successful collections, most recently women’s and children’s outerwear. Previous to Obermeyer, she launched her own textile design firm specializing in the active sports, swimwear and surf market.  In addition to producing art from an in-house staff, Hollingsworth represented 30 accounts including Nike, Quiksilver, Generra, Speedo, Jantzen, Union Bay, Ocean Pacific and Banana Republic, among others. Now with many years of pertinent experience under her belt, designing for brands including Eddie Bauer, Pacific Trail, WeBeBop Kids, and Code Bleu, Hollingsworth returns to Obermeyer with a focus on the preschool and women’s Minx collections.

Hollingsworth graduated from Parsons School of Design with multiple honors including Designer of the Year. She and her family will reside in Aspen.
