Oberalp Group has named Helly Hansen veteran Philip Tavell as Dynafit’s brand director, starting February 2026.

Tavell had been VP of Outdoor Apparel, Accessories, and Bags at Helly Hansen since September 2022. He joined the company as a category manager for Wintersport and Training in November 2011. Previous business roles include product manager at Craft Functional Sportswear and category manager at Red Bull. He was also a professional mountain bike racer, competing internationally for Cyclepro and Multivan-Merida.

Oberalp Group chose Tavell for his “proven international leadership in product management, development, and branding, his extensive professional background in Sweden, Norway, the United States, Switzerland, and Germany, and his deep sports pedigree.”

Tavell stated, “With Dynafit comes a unique opportunity for me to combine my sporting interests and passions within a brand universe dedicated to mountain athletes.”

With nearly €100 million ($118 million) in sales, Dynafit ranks as Oberalp Group’s second largest sports brand, following Salewa.
