Oakley, Inc. is opening a store in New York’s Times Square. Debuting this month, the store will showcase the latest style creations and performance innovations that enrich the Oakley heritage of design excellence.

“More than just a destination, Times Square is an experience, and we are thrilled to be part of it,” said Erik Searles, vice president of Oakley Retail. “As a launch point for product innovation and a home of the chic and sophisticated, Times Square is an ideal venue for the cutting-edge technology and leading-edge style of Oakley. An estimated 26 million visitors each year are drawn there by the excitement of possibility, and there is a perfect synergy with what our icon represents,” Searles concluded.

The store will include an Oakley Custom bar that will give customers the opportunity to create their own renditions of Oakley eyewear and goggles. An onsite etching machine will allow them to personalize their designs with engraving.

The store will feature the newest fashions and technologies from the Perform Beautifully collection made for active women and  Oakley’s golf apparel and footwear line.

Oakley will also use the Times Square location to debut new product, including the company’s new Fast Jacket sunglass with SwitchLock Technology that makes lens changing quick, easy and hassle-free.

The grand opening will begin with a media event on April 7th. This will be followed by an all-day customer event on April 9th, highlighted by hourly giveaways. Details will be released via Oakley Twitter. Oakley R&D will be onsite to demonstrate the superiority of the company’s performance optics. Additional in-store events are scheduled for the year, including Fashion’s Night Out in September.
