The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, appointed Samantha Pedder as its new manager, outreach and diversity.

Pedder previously worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission as the hunting outreach coordinator, where she oversaw the agency's efforts to recruit, retain and reactivate Pennsylvania's hunters and shooters. In her position with NSSF, Pedder will address the need for participant diversity in hunting and the shooting sports, working with retailers, state agencies, and other industry partners to identify successful strategies and programs that help meet these goals.

“I can't think of a better way to build on the successes I experienced working with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the state's sportsmen and sportswomen than by creating new opportunities with all partners looking to grow shooting sports participation and hunter numbers,” said Pedder. “I'm looking forward to taking on these challenges with NSSF.”

“We're very pleased to have Samantha join our talented team here at NSSF,” said Deb Kenney, NSSF vice president, human resources & administration. “She brings a great deal of experience working on recruitment and retention programs and partnering with industry groups and state agencies. We think she'll be a great asset in helping NSSF promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports.”

Pedder earned her B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the Pennsylvania State University and completed a Master of Natural Resources degree from Utah State University. She is an avid hunter and shooter and enjoys spending time with her family outdoors.
