The National Retail Federation elected members of its Board of Directors during NRF’s 95th Annual Convention & EXPO in New York City. M. Farooq Kathwari, Chairman, President and CEO, Ethan Allen Interiors Inc., will succeed Arnold B. Zetcher as Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee and will serve a two-year term effective immediately.

In addition, Paul R. Charron, Chairman and CEO, Liz Claiborne Inc., will succeed Kathwari as First Vice Chairman. Charron will also serve as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer. Myron E. Ullman III, Chairman and CEO, JCPenney Company, Inc., was named Second Vice Chairman of the Board. Charron and Ullman will each serve a two-year term.

Other executives elected to the NRF Board include, each serving a three-year term:

  • Jorge Pont, Assistant to the Chairman, El Corte Inglés, Madrid, Spain
  • Burt Tansky, President and CEO, The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc., Dallas, Texas

In addition:

  • Bill Dombrowski, President, California Retailers Association, Sacramento, California was elected to represent NRF’s State Association Council;
  • Elaine Rubin, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions, Amazon Services, Westbury, New York was elected to represent NRF’s Shop.org Division;
  • and Steve Ladwig, General Manager, Retail Industry, IBM Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Walter Loeb, President, Loeb Associates, New York, New York were both re-elected to serve another one-year term as representatives of NRF’s Associate Member Advisory Council.
