U.S. Soccer and Nike announced plans to open a Nike Sport Research Lab at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center (NTC) being built in Georgia’s Fayette County and scheduled to open within the next few months.

Nike is a founding partner of U.S. Soccer NTC.

Located just outside of Atlanta, the NTC is a “cornerstone of U.S. Soccer’s long-term vision to grow the game nationwide.” Supporting all 27 national teams, it will serve as the central hub for coach and referee education, research, and community programming.  The Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) will feature collaborative research, athlete insights gathering, as well as Nike equipment (e.g. NSRL Form) and materials. Available in a few flagship stores, the NSRL Form uses motion capture and machine learning to analyze running form across six core metrics and provide personalized recommendations for athletes.

Nike athletes across sports will also have the opportunity to access Nike resources at the NTC, further helping to accelerate innovation and performance opportunities (for both soccer and non-soccer athletes) through an exchange of training and recovery insights.

“For thirty years, Nike and U.S. Soccer have worked side-by-side to grow the game at every level, and the NTC is our next opportunity to continue being in service to soccer,” said U.S. Soccer Chief Commercial Officer David Wright. “The NTC is the home of soccer in America, and the Nike Sport Research Lab is an instrumental part of building our foundation to more pathways and possibilities.”
