Nike has signed a lease to move into a slightly smaller flagship on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue. The new location, at 540 North Michigan Avenue, measures 43,000-square-foot across two floors, while the existing flagship at 663 North Michigan Avenue is 57,000 square feet across five floors
The new storefront, at the Shops at North Bridge, sits on a prominent corner previously occupied by Forever 21, which closed in 2018. The current flagship opened in 1992.
Crain’s Chicago Business first reported on the move. Representatives for Nike and that property’s landlord, British real estate management firm Mark Capital Management, didn’t respond to requests for comment. No details are available as to when the current flagship closes and the new storefront opens.
