Nike will open its first Brooklyn store. The 20,000-square-foot space will open on 2236 Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush, according to reports.

According to Sneakernews.com, the location is near an existing Target location as well as 60,000 square foot retail development across the street.

The location is being promoted as its second Nike Community Store program on the East Coast. The first opened in April in northeast Washington D.C. As part of its community-focused mission, the D.C. store hired local residents for its staff and is employing “store athletes” from
neighborhoods within a five-mile radius. All store employees will also
allocate volunteer hours to neighborhood organizations, Nike officials
had said.
