Nike closed a Nike Factory Store located at 4600 Shelbyville Road in the Shelbyville Road Place in Louisville, KY.
The report said with Off Broadway Shoes, Nordstrom Rack and Ross Dress for Less also selling Nike product, the shopping center manager chose not to renew its contract to avoid redundancies.
Tommy Edwards, retail director for Hagan Properties, told Louisville Business First that Nike had a ten-year lease at the retail center, which ends January 31. Said Edwards, “We’ve decided to go in a different direction to add value to the shopping center.”
The shopping center also includes Trader Joe’s, Quest Outdoors, JoAnn’s, Buff City Soap, and CycleBar.
Nike also operates an outlet store about 20 miles away at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville, KY. It is the only Nike store in Kentucky according to the company’s website.
