After pulling a “gotcha” in June regarding the release of its first co-branded collection, Nike and Skims announced a firm launch date for Friday, September 26, on their respective websites and at select retail stores, including their flagship locations in New York City and Los Angeles.
The two companies initially announced their partnership, creating a new NikeSkims business in February 2025, suggesting the first collection would launch in the spring. However, Nike cited internal production delays in June, which delayed the launch of the new collection aimed at reaching a broader female consumer base.
“NikeSkims is more than a collaboration — it’s a new brand redefining activewear,” Skims CEO Jens Grede said in a media release. “With this launch, we are establishing a platform to grow NikeSkims, reach consumers worldwide, and set a new benchmark for how activewear is experienced across retail, digital and cultural touch points.”
The debut line is said to include seven collections and 58 silhouettes, “offering more than 10,000 ways to combine a diverse range of looks shaped by an uncompromising attention to detail, style, function, and comfort,” said Nike in its media release.
Three core collections, Matte, Shine, and Airy, will reportedly offer ~40 new styles and items that can be worn both in and outside the gym, and updated on a seasonal basis.
The line will also feature four seasonal collections to complement the core NikeSkims apparel, including a vintage line and layering pieces that can be worn to create an activewear look.
The joint marketing launch includes a film titled “Bodies at Work” and photography of over 50 athletes from across the Nike portfolio, including Jordan Chiles, Romane Dicko, Beatriz Hatz, Chloe Kim, Nelly Korda, Sha’Carri Richardson, Madisen Skinner, and Serena Williams, as well as Kim Kardashian, the co-founder and chief creative officer of Skims.
