Nike has returned as the official supplier of apparel and footwear for USA Canoe/Kayak's national teams via a two-year agreement through the end of 2016.
Nike had been USA Canoe/Kayak's official uniform supplier from 2007 to 2012.
“I am very excited that we have been able to sign this agreement with Nike,” said Bob Lally, Chairman and Interim CEO of USA Canoe/Kayak. “This apparel agreement and partnership is significant to us as we can now fully outfit our elite athletes as they represent the US on the international stage. In addition, we will also be able to outfit our Paracanoe team as they participate in their first Paralympic Games in 2016.”
The International Paralympics Organization (IPC) recently announced the inclusion of Paracanoe in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo games.
Headquartered in Oklahoma City, USA Canoe/Kayak is a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the International Canoe Federation. It governs the Olympic disciplines of Canoe Sprint, Canoe Slalom, the Paralympic discipline of Paracanoe and sanctions Freestyle, Marathon, Outrigger, Wildwater, Stand Up Paddle Board, Kayak Polo, Dragon Boat and Canoe Sailing in the United States.
