Nike, Inc. reopened its store in downtown Portland following a refurbishment, with a focus on running and flooring that resemble track lanes.
Nike Portland, OR, at 638 S.W. Fifth Avenue in housed in the historic Kress Building, which closed in late 2023.
Beyond the track-inspired flooring, there are areas dedicated to men’s and women’s apparel, Jordan-brand and basketball products and a kids’ section in the 7,500 square-foot space.
“Nike is committed to elevating retail around the world, centered around athletes and sport,” stated Craig Williams, EVP, chief commercial officer at Nike Inc. “Nike Portland is a great example of that commitment, infusing hyperlocal relevance and spotlighting the best innovations from our brands.”
Nike noted that its Portland store is just one of several flagship store renovations, with the Nike Harajuku store in Tokyo having been renovated and reopened in September. In London, Nike’s Oxford Circus location, a three-floor “temporary flagship,” opened in July, while NikeTown London undergoes a revamp through 2027.
Nike has had a presence in downtown Portland since 1990, first opening its Kress Building location in 2011.
