Nike closed its Live concept store in downtown Naperville, IL, on July 13, according to local reports. No reason was given for the closure.
The Chicago Tribune and Naperville Community Television (NCTV17) confirmed the closure, which was marked by a sign on the door and a message left on the store’s phone line. Nike has not returned media calls regarding the reason for the closing.
The store, measuring 4,600 square feet at 217 S. Main Street, opened in November 2021 and marked the first Nike Live in Illinois. The Nike Live concept is a members-only store focused on mobile, a two-week merchandise rotation and inventory curated using local search and purchase data.
The Naperville store focused on women’s and running product.
Nike has quietly closed a few other Nike Live locations this year, including two in the Atlanta-metro area Live stores in Ponce City Market and Avalon, as well as a Live store in Cary, NC.
