Nike Boston reopened on Friday, April 18 just prior to the Boston Marathon. Located at the former Niketown address -200 Newbury Street – Nike Boston has an entirely new look. The two-story, 30,000-square-foot store will offer a premium assortment of Nike Running, Women’s Training, Basketball, Football, Soccer and Sportswear product, with footwear, apparel and equipment for men, women and children. Nike Boston will also provide a comprehensive array of services including run analysis, head-to-toe styling, bra-fitting, pant-hemming, and special programming such as weekly Nike+Run Club.

“Boston is an important part of our heritage as a Brand and we have been a proud partner of the local community for more than 47 years,” said Dennis van Oossanen, Vice President of Nike North America Direct to Consumer. “With the reopening of Nike Boston we look forward to deepening our connection with Boston’s rich running and sports culture, and we aim to inspire and serve athletes of all levels.”

The store pays homage to the city's sports heritage through several unique installations: design cues celebrating the remarkable 37 championships that Boston teams have won hang in the atrium; the wood court floor and bleachers on the walls were reclaimed from a local high school gymnasium; and the JUST DO IT mural in the atrium, more than three stories high, was inspired by the actual height of the Green Monster at Fenway.

Running is at the heart of Nike Boston, with men’s and women’s footwear, apparel and services highlighted on the entire first floor. During its inaugural weekend it will serve as a one-stop running Expotique (Expo + Boutique) to provide runners with race day essentials. Year round, the Nike+ digital ecosystem and Nike+ Member Services are in place to provide premium, personal experiences for runners of all levels. The store also includes a Runners Lounge that will operate as a community-focused area and serve as home base for the Nike+ Run Club, which will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Nike Boston is the 12th Nike Brand Experience door to open in the U.S. Designed to optimize energy efficiency and incorporate reclaimed materials, Nike Boston is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is anticipating LEED®Gold Certification.

The company first opened its doors in Boston in 1967 in the suburb of Wellesley and has maintained a business presence in Boston through offices, warehouses, sales offices and the former Niketown Boston store.
