Nike 6.0, for the third year running, will present a three-day live webcast of the 2009 National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Open Championships at the famed Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California. The event will run Tuesday, June 23rd through Saturday, June 27th.

The last three days of the event, Thursday June 25th- Saturday, June 27, will be shot with High Definition cameras and webcast live at nssalive.com. This year’s webcast will feature premier streaming capabilities, providing an increased viewing experience for thousands of viewers.

Over the course of the past 31 years the NSSA has nurtured the emerging talents of many of today’s influential surfers including former champs Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Kalani Robb, Andy Irons, Bruce Irons, CJ Hobgood, Carissa Moore and Nat Young. The organization is proud to continue in the tradition of providing an instrumental portal to the future of competitive surfing.
 
The three-day webcast will include coverage of all rounds of the Open Men’s, Open Women’s beginning with the Quarter Finals, Open Junior’s beginning with Round Two heats 5-8, as well as, Open Boys beginning with the Semis and Open Mini Grom beginning with the Finals. Additionally, Saturday’s coverage will include the National Explorer Championships, National Airshow Championships,

National Open Championships and the California State Parks Governor’s Cup Finals. In addition to the live action, scoring and results, the webcast will feature hosts Dave Stanfield, Peter Mel, Jodie Nelson and a roster of special guests to provide viewers with expert commentary and insights. Along with the webcast, photo and video highlights will be available at nssalive.com .
 
The Nike 6.0 webcast of the NSSA National Open Championships will be available for online users to view in a high and low bandwidth stream with the same superior picture quality viewers enjoyed from the acclaimed webcast of the recent Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro, also hosted at Lower Trestles.
 
The day following the 2009 NSSA National Open Championships, the Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure presented by Jack’s Surfboards will commence just up the coast in Huntington Beach. It will run June 28-29, 2009. Ranked as an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-4, this two-day event is the highest rated Men’s Pro Junior in North America on the ASP 2009 calendar and will therefore draw several of the top Open Men’s and Junior Men’s contenders from the NSSA National Open Championships up to Huntington Beach to keep the contest momentum going strong.
