National Golf Products (NGP) has named James Meabon as senior sales director. Meabon — formerly regional director of franchise sales and development for Microtel Inns & Suites and Hawthorn Suites — will oversee all domestic sales to commercial golf facilities and continue growing the company's customer database.

“James's background in sales and hospitality is perfect for our company. In a short time, he has helped increase and manage product demand nationwide,” says Jon Leven, CEO of National Golf Products. “In fact, the strength of our domestic sales has sparked worldwide interest in THE Golf Mat and The Radar as we have recently partnered with distributors in Europe and Asia.”

Recently selected as the “preferred practice surface” of The PGA Village and PGA Learning Center, THE Golf Mat provides the same sensation of “give” at impact as taking a divot off natural turf, encouraging a proper down and through swing motion. While The Radar — in a sport that demands distance control — uses 12 “calibrated” bands to accurately record ball velocity and carry distance on shots from 10 to 400 yards. Combined with a hitting net, these products need just eight feet of space and can be used indoors or outside, creating the ultimate home practice system.

“It's thrilling to join a company changing the way golfers practice — from uninspiring and repetitious to fun, effective and efficient,” says Meabon. “One of our goals is to introduce as many players as possible to THE Golf Mat and The Radar. If Vijay Singh endorses both products, one knows they have to make a difference.”
