NGF: October Rounds Played Increase 5.1%…

According to the National Golf Foundation, October rounds played in the U.S. increased 5.1% on a same-store basis over the same month last year, which brought year-to-date performance into positive territory (+0.3%).  Play days correlated with performance. For example, two additional days open for business, on average, contributed to improved performance in the Midwest. The Northeast (+13.2%) and Midwest regions (Lower Midwest, +18.1%; Upper Midwest, 19.1%) saw the largest growth as both saw unseasonably warm weather compare to cold bouts in the year-ago month. The biggest declines came in the Northwest (-16%) and Central/South Florida (-10.9%).
