Nfinity, the maker of women’s cheerleading, volleyball and basketball shoes, has been selected as a finalist in the 2009 American Business Awards. Nfinity is one of only seven companies up for the Business Innovation of the Year – Up to 100 Employees Award. The Stevie Award winner in each category will be announced at the awards banquet in New York on Monday, June 22.

“It is an honor to be nominated for the Business Innovation of the Year award,” said Nfinity CEO Tate Chalk. “It is Nfinity’s goal to make a profound difference in the lives of female athletes, and we are not just trying to introduce a new product, we want to change the way companies address the needs of female athletes.”

Nfinity, based in Atlanta, said it's the first team sport footwear company to design shoes that specifically address a woman’s biology. Nfinity’s BioniQ technology addresses the pronounced Q Angle, the angle found between the hip and knee which increases the likelihood of ACL injuries in women.

Founded in 2004, Nfinity introduced the world's first high-performance cheerleading shoe for women and was ranked 9th on Inc. Magazine’s list of Top 100 Consumer Product Companies in 2008.
