The Australian Baseball League (ABL) announced that New Era Cap Co., Inc. has been selected as its exclusive headwear provider.  As part of the landmark agreement, all six of the league's teams will don New Era's iconic 59FIFTY caps, when the inaugural 40-game season begins on 6 November 2011.

New Era will also provide the exclusive headwear merchandise for the ABL and each of its clubs: the Adelaide Bite, Brisbane Bandits, Canberra Cavalry, Melbourne Aces, Perth Heat and Sydney Blue Sox.

ABL Baseball Operations Manager Ben Foster said the alliance highlights the League's commitment to providing a world-class baseball experience.

“We are thrilled to usher in this exciting new chapter in Australian baseball history in partnership with New Era,” Foster said.  “The ABL is committed to providing the best overall baseball experience to Australian players and fans alike, so we couldn't be happier to be partnering with New Era, the market leader and global standard in headwear.”

New Era Senior Vice President, Jim Grundtisch noted that the company's commitment to the Australian Baseball League marked a continuation of its investment in developing the game globally.

“We are proud of our association with the Australian Baseball League at this historic time in Australia,” Grundtisch said.”  “New Era is excited to help expand the sport's footprint in Australia and throughout the Asia Pacific region.  As the ABL showcases the future stars of the game, it is only appropriate that they should be wearing the official cap of Major League Baseball on their journey.”

In addition to its designation as “Exclusive Headwear of the Australian Baseball League,” New Era will also receive branding and promotion in ABL stadiums and publications.
