New Balance has signed Robinson Cano, star second basemen of the Seattle Mariners. New Balance will outfit the six-time All-Star both on and off the field. New Balance also partnered with the RC22 Foundation, Cano’s charity.

New Balance's MLB athletes also include David Ortiz, RA Dickey, Evan Longoria and Miguel Cabrera.

“Robbie is that rare type of athlete who makes the game look easy while consistently performing at the highest level,” Mark Cavanaugh, GM for sports marketing at New Balance, said in a statement. “His flawless play on the field and his genuine passion for giving back to the community make him an excellent fit with our company.”

Part of the endorsement deal includes custom-made baseballs cleats for Cano. The spikes, not available for purchase, will be made in camouflage colors and “feature a dual-density midsole that helps alleviate spike stud pressure and give the athlete unparalleled comfort and fit on the diamond.”

As part of the RC22 Foundation, New Balance will outfit students at Cano’s Dream School with apparel and footwear. The RC22 Dream School will be a high quality early childhood educational institution and community center in Cano’s hometown of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic.
