New Balance officially opened its new distribution center in Salt Lake City, UT, which the company expects to support faster delivery times and streamline service across its wholesale, retail and digital channels.

Located in the Northwest section of the city, the 806,000-square-foot building will use advanced technology, including robots, autonomous vehicles and six miles of conveyance to support operations. The equipment will handle footwear, apparel and accessories, with the capability to receive and ship roughly “100,000 units per day across two shifts,” New Balance called out in a media release.

“Today’s celebration and the opening of this distribution center are a reflection of our continued growth,” said Dave Wheeler, New Balance chief operating officer. “This facility marks a critical investment to streamline our supply chain and support our growing customer base. With our new footprint in Salt Lake City, we’re better positioned to meet our customer promise every day.”

Krystin Morris, New Balance vice president of distribution and logistics, stated, “Growth isn’t just about expanding our footprint; it’s about deepening our impact. We’re proud to bring our values to Salt Lake City, and even prouder to support the associates who make this progress possible.”

New Balance has fully onboarded the morning and evening work shifts of over 80 employees and reports that “approximately four million units have been received to date, and about one million outbound processed, with the facility quickly ramping up to manage all West Coast inbound and outbound volume.”
