New Balance opened a flagship store at The Grove in Los Angeles, marking the brand’s first flagship location on the West Coast.
Building on a flagship concept introduced in cities including London, Tokyo and New York store, the 4,400 square-foot, two-level space is tailored specifically to the Los Angeles community. Features include a two-story curved staircase, a dedicated wall highlighting New Balance athletes and a community gathering area at the entrance. Floor-to-ceiling windows are designed to showcase an open retail environment, while a dedicated room showcases the brand’s Made in USA collection.
“The Grove flagship marks a defining moment for New Balance on the West Coast,” said Tracy Knauer, senior vice president, North America. “More than a store, it is a powerful expression of our premium brand—deepening our connection to the dynamic Los Angeles market by bringing together elevated storytelling, authentic athlete and ambassador connections, and inspiring experiences that help consumers discover their personal style. The location sets a new benchmark for New Balance retail while keeping the consumer at the center of everything we do.”
New Balance has approximately 160 licensed stores in the U.S. as well as about 3,500 internationally, but has recently opened a number of corporate stores in recent years. Corporate stores include four in New York City to leverage its New York City Marathon sponsorship in the Flatiron District (150 Fifth Ave), SoHo (542 Broadway), Upper East Side, and Upper West Side; as well as two stores in its hometown of Boston, including a flagship on Newbury Street and one next to its Boston Landing corporate headquarters complex.
New Balance also has corporate-owned stores in Seoul, San Francisco, Milan, Tokyo, and London.
