New Balance on Thursday opened its new corporate headquarters. About  700 employees moved into its new 250,000-square-foot building at the 15-acre Boston Landing development, over the Massachusetts Turnpike in the northwestern edge of Boston.

The old headquarters are nearby down Guest Street.

‘‘It’s a truly modern building that allows us to collaborate the way millennials work today,’’ CEO Robert DeMartini
said as company officials gave reporters a tour of the grounds Thursday morning, according to the Associated Press. ‘‘There’s much less individual space and much more open and public space and much more digital and electronic engagement.’’

The new headquarters is part of a 15-acre development in Boston’s Allston and Brighton neighborhoods called Boston Landing. The Davis family, which owns the 109-year-old sneaker company, financed the project.

The development will also include a new Boston Bruins practice facility that will seat 600 fans and is scheduled to open in September 2016. A 5,000-seat indoor track and field complex, a hotel, 275 residential apartments, two more office buildings, and a new commuter rail station are also planned.
