Pensole Design Academy announced registration is now open for its 2019 expanded joint program with New Balance.

Called Pensole Co-Op, the three-week master class, to be held January 28 – February 15, 2019 at New Balance’s Design and Development Facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts, has expanded its curriculum to include not only footwear and color/material design through MLab, but also functional apparel and accessories design through FAAS (Functional Apparel and Accessories Studio) and product marketing.

 “We’ve always offered hands-on training in product marketing in our footwear design programs,” Pensole founder D’Wayne Edwards said. “In 2017 we added functional apparel and accessories design, and our 2019 program with New Balance will reflect our ongoing diversification in curriculum.”

Pensole Co-Op at New Balance will feature instruction from industry professionals from New Balance, Pensole, MLab and FAAS, ranging from design directors, designers, design recruiters, product managers, marketers, technicians and developers, all willing to share knowledge to help inspire, guide and challenge students to reach their creative potential.

For this new program, Pensole and New Balance are jointly focused on a global search for the top 30 aspiring footwear professionals broken out into the following categories: 15 in footwear; five in color and material; five in functional apparel; and five aspiring product marketing professionals. Those selected will receive receive free tuition, housing and meals over the course of the three-week master class at New Balance.

Top students from this class will be considered for a one-year paid apprenticeship at the New Balance Design Foundry starting in June of 2019
