The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) said Rob DeMartini, CEO of New Balance, will join the AAFA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

“I am pleased to welcome Rob to the AAFA Board,” said AAFA Board of Directors Chairperson Carol J. Hochman, CEO of Triumph Apparel Marketing. “Rob will be a valued member of our Board as he advises us on the concerns of our footwear members. I look forward to serving with him as we work to move our industry forward.”

“With all of the challenges currently facing the U.S. apparel and footwear industry, Rob’s insight and experience will be invaluable,” said AAFA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “Because of New Balance’s global reputation for delivering first-rate athletic shoes to its customers, we are proud that Rob has agreed to join our Board of Directors. Rob will be a strong and steady voice for our footwear members.”

DeMartini will assume the Board of Directors and Executive Committee position recently vacated by Jim Tompkins, President and COO of New Balance.
